ALLIANCE

The ALLIANCE-EIPSaE research project studies a health promotion initiative in schools aimed at developing health-friendly environments for primary school pupils. This initiative focuses on training, support, and providing resources to school professionals and the municipalities involved, to implement actions in accordance with the Health Promoting Schools framework (HPS) and WHO Healthy Cities.

The initial experimental phase for this initiative was conducted from 2019 to 2022 in schools and municipalities across four departments in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, divided into an intervention group and a control group. Building on the initial results and a dynamic partnership context, the current goal is to analyse its dissemination with other volunteering schools and municipalities, and to gain better understanding of its functioning.

The multi-level approach, which also involves municipalities and stakeholders, fosters perceived legitimacy and empowers professionals in health promotion. Additionally, data collected from students based on validated indicators will provide insights into their mental health, lifestyle, and skills. Identifying key factors for success and failure in implementation will aid in reproducibility and knowledge transfer. Finally, studying the transferability of intervention strategies will allow for improvements aimed at broader dissemination.
